VISITING THE BISHOP
Last night (November 1) we were
invited to meet with the Anglican Bishop of Mbale. It was an interesting experience. We gained some real insight into Uganda and
Africa. We found out that the lady who
owns the guest house where we stayed is his sister (Florence), one of several
children from the same family. He told
us that most African families have 7 to 9 children. We found out that Florence’s husband (Sam) was
the 45th child of an African chief who had 14 wives. How
different the culture is here.
The Bishop asked what we were
doing here which gave us an opportunity to share with him about the
school. We told him that we were
training ministers to reach the street children of Uganda. He was very excited and said that we would
make his job easier. He thanked us
several times for coming and doing what God told us to do.
